Bar Restaurante Cruz de Tea
About This Spot
Stepping into Bar Restaurante Cruz de Tea feels like slipping into a warm corner of Tenerife where the pace gently slows and the landscape unfolds around you. Nestled along the TF-21 with sweeping views that stretch from the peaks of Mount Teide to the shimmering Atlantic beyond, this humble guachinche invites visitors to savor more than just a meal — it’s a quiet celebration of place, tradition, and the rhythms of local life.
The atmosphere hums softly with easy conversations and the occasional laughter spilling from shared tables. Inside, the open kitchen offers a glimpse into the craft behind familiar Canary Island flavors, where the grill’s subtle smokiness mingles with the fresh mountain air drifting through the space. It’s not polished or flashy; rather, the charm lies in its simplicity and earnestness, a spot where authenticity carries the day.
The menu complements the setting beautifully. Plates arrive generously portioned, often highlighting the region’s hearty staples and seasonal touches. Whether it’s a plate of tender, roasted meats or something thoughtfully prepared for vegan guests, each dish feels rooted in traditions but made accessible for anyone eager to explore the local palate. There’s an unspoken invitation here to linger — to share small bites, sip the house wine, and watch as daylight shifts over the valley below.
What truly enriches the experience is the genuine warmth of the staff; their easy friendliness and attentiveness help cultivate an environment where visitors feel both welcomed and at ease. It’s a place that respects the casual pace of island life, letting moments unfold naturally against the backdrop of stunning views and the unmistakable scent of wood smoke and fresh herbs.
Bar Restaurante Cruz de Tea offers more than just food and drink — it’s a slice of Tenerife’s soul, framed by mountains and sea, and embraced by those who know how to make every guest feel a little like home.

This Guachinche (another name for restaurant/ bar in Tenerife) had amazing views of the North part of Tenerife. You have views of mountain tops and tea views. And of course, food tastes lovely. Very good if you are a vegetarian and vegan. We bought a few lovely dishes and of course some desserts. See my photos of what dish I bought. We bought food, desserts, dips and alcohol drinks, and it worked out to be €15 per person. Good value for money.

Lovely local restaurant full of traditional dishes, the soup was delicious and we were offered flamed chorizo and bread while we waited on dishes, mixed grill with chips (for 2 or 4) was DIVINE, some of the best flavours I have had in a mixed grill, meat had a really nice but subtle Smokey flavour to it and was grilled in open plan restaurant space so you can see it being done! Great service and delicious food, would recommend if you want a traditional feel and dishes after a day in the mountains!

We ordered the option Picoteo that comes with 3 dishes + drink (we went for vino de la casa) and it was simply delicious we felt the ingredients were fresh and cooked at the moment. The stuff was friendly and charismatic, we felt welcome And the desserts were to die for

A very nice small restaurant with montain view of park teide on one side and an ocean view on the other. The food was excellent and the staff was super friendly. It is a little rin down, but everything else more than makes up for it. They have amazing coffee as well

Wonderful place with stunning views over the valley, the sea, and Mount Teide. I sat in the sun and really enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere. The tuna croquettes and local potatoes were delicious - fresh and full of flavor. They serve bread and chorizo as a starter to every table, so if you don't eat pork, it's best to mention it right away to avoid waste. Friendly service, great food, and a perfect setting. Highly recommended!

We had a really relaxing and enjoyable lunch here. The views are outstanding, the service was very friendly and welcoming. There are tables on the pretty terrace or inside the restaurant, all with the spectacular views over La Orotava and Agumansa. Lots of options on the menu but they also do a very affordable 3 or 4 tapas plates to choose with bread and a drink for 9.75 and 12.75, which we decided to try. It was all really nice. It did get busy whilst we was there, we arrived for an early lunch and it was quiet then but it soon filled up. Parking spaces at the front. Definitely recommend and will return.

After all our trips to Spain, this was the first time we were truly amazed by the food. Our biggest mistake had been dining in hotels or touristy spots. Thank you for introducing us to the real flavors of Spanish cuisine!
